At-a-glance fitment comparison

The table is filtered to researched tyre sizes: 195/65 R16, 205/60 R16, 215/50 R17, 235/40 R18. Compare the listed size against the current tyre sidewall first, then check load/speed rating, season and run-flat notes. Products outside those researched sizes are deliberately excluded from this vehicle shortlist.

2018 Ford Focus fitment guide: start with the exact size

This page is a fitment-led guide for 2018 Ford Focus tyres, not a universal recommendation for every trim. The researched sizes for this shortlist are 195/65 R16, 205/60 R16, 215/50 R17 and 235/40 R18. Exact tyre size can vary by trim, wheel option, market and any previous wheel changes, so confirm the current sidewall or vehicle placard before ordering. The shortlist below only includes exact-size matches from the supplied Tyres.net set, with summer tyres from Continental, Hankook and Nexen.

Compare the shortlist by size, brand and price spread

All tyres in this shortlist are summer tyres, so the main comparison is between exact fitment, brand familiarity and price. The supplied range runs from £76.44 to £187.25, which gives a clear spread from lower-cost Nexen options to higher-priced Continental entries, with Hankook in between. There are no visible review ratings or counts for these products, so it makes sense to compare current stock, delivery times and any fitting options on the retailer page rather than relying on star scores. Because live product details were not fully visible during checking, the retailer listing should be treated as the final place to confirm what is available today.

How to choose a 2018 Ford Focus tyre safely

First, match the tyre size on your car’s sidewall to one of the researched sizes: 195/65 R16, 205/60 R16, 215/50 R17 or 235/40 R18. Then check the load index and speed rating on the exact tyre you plan to order, because those numbers still need to suit the vehicle and the way you drive. If your Focus currently uses run-flat tyres, confirm that the replacement tyre is marked for that use before you buy. After that, compare season choice, current stock, delivery terms and any fitting options on the retailer page, so the final purchase fits both the car and your plans.

Why the same model year can have different tyre sizes

A 2018 Ford Focus does not automatically use one tyre size across every trim. Wheel option, market version and earlier wheel changes can all affect the correct fitment, which is why a sidewall and placard check matters before ordering. This is also why the four researched sizes are kept separate rather than treated as interchangeable. If the size on the car does not match the shortlist, do not assume a near match will be suitable.

Why the 205/60 R16 group gives the clearest comparison

The 205/60 R16 cluster is the strongest part of the shortlist because it appears in most of the supplied products. That makes it the easiest place to compare like for like across the available brands and price points: Nexen N blue HD Plus 92V is the lowest-priced option, Hankook Kinergy Eco 2 K435 92H sits in the middle, and Continental EcoContact 6 96W and ContiPremiumContact 2 96H sit higher up the range. For shoppers who have already confirmed 205/60 R16 on the sidewall or placard, this is the cleanest value comparison within the guide.

Why the 235/40 R18 tyre should be treated as its own group

The EcoContact 7 S in 235/40 R18 is a separate fitment cluster and should not be mixed with the 16-inch tyres. Even though it appears in the same guide, it belongs to a different wheel package and needs its own sidewall and placard check before comparison. Treating it separately helps avoid ordering the wrong size and keeps the shortlist focused on exact matches only.

What the shortlist gives you once fitment is confirmed

Once you have verified the size, the shortlist becomes a practical way to compare three familiar brands — Continental, Hankook and Nexen — without losing sight of exact fitment. The main benefit is the visible price spread, which helps shoppers balance budget against brand preference in the correct tyre size. Before placing an order, check the retailer page for the latest stock, delivery times and fitting options, because those details can change after the initial listing check. That final review is especially important when the live product page is the only place showing what can be dispatched now.
