The table is filtered to researched tyre sizes: 185/60 R15, 215/45 R16, 215/40 R17. Compare the listed size against the current tyre sidewall first, then check load/speed rating, season and run-flat notes. Products outside those researched sizes are deliberately excluded from this vehicle shortlist.

The researched tyre sizes for this 2016 Volkswagen Polo guide are 185/60 R15, 215/45 R16 and 215/40 R17. Exact tyre size can vary by trim, wheel option, market and any previous wheel changes, so do not assume every Polo uses the same size. Confirm the size on the current tyre sidewall or vehicle placard before ordering. This shortlist is concentrated in 185/60 R15, so it works best for shoppers who already know their exact fitment and want to compare matching tyres only.
Once fitment is confirmed, compare the matching shortlist on season, brand familiarity, price and delivery timing. The supplied shortlist contains 5 matching tyres from 2 brands, Kumho and Nexen, and it includes winter, summer and all-season options. The visible price range in the main benchmark set is £55.26 to £74.63, although some item ranges extend up to £107.01, so the latest retailer price should be checked alongside stock and delivery before you choose.
Start with the exact tyre sidewall on your car, then check the vehicle placard before comparing products. If your current fitment is 185/60 R15, the shortlist includes Kumho WinterCraft WP52+ 185/60 R15 84T, Kumho WinterCraft WP52+ 185/60 R15 88T, Nexen N blue HD Plus 185/60 R15 84H Summer, Nexen N blue S 185/60 R15 84H Summer and Kumho Solus 4S HA32 185/60 R15 88H All season. After the size matches, compare load index and speed rating on both the current tyre and the listing, then decide whether winter, summer or all-season suits your driving. For example, winter driving may point you towards the Kumho WinterCraft WP52+ options, commuting or motorway use may suit a summer tyre, and year-round convenience may suit the Kumho Solus 4S HA32. If the car currently uses run-flat tyres, check the individual product page rather than assuming the same construction carries over.
The same 2016 Volkswagen Polo does not always use the same tyre size. Trim, wheel option, market and any previous wheel changes can all alter the correct fitment, which is why this guide keeps the researched sizes limited to 185/60 R15, 215/45 R16 and 215/40 R17. A sidewall check is the quickest starting point, but the vehicle placard should also be confirmed before ordering so you do not rely on the wrong wheel package.
A matching rim size is only the first step. You should also compare load index, speed rating, season and any run-flat notes on the product listing, because the shortlist includes 84T, 88T and 84H examples across Kumho and Nexen. That matters more here because the supplied shortlist has no visible review details, so the specification details are more useful than popularity cues. Check the exact product title and variant before you add anything to basket.
Season is the main way the shortlist differs once the size is fixed. Kumho WinterCraft WP52+ is the winter option in 185/60 R15, Nexen N blue HD Plus and Nexen N blue S are summer options, and Kumho Solus 4S HA32 gives an all-season route for drivers who want fewer seasonal swaps. For colder-weather use, winter tyres are the relevant comparison; for everyday summer driving, a summer tyre may be the simpler choice; and for mixed use across the year, all-season can be the practical middle ground.
Value here is about getting the correct exact-size tyre at the right time, not just the lowest number on the page. The visible price range is £55.26 to £74.63 for the main benchmark set, while some item ranges extend to £107.01, so the latest retailer price should be checked before buying. Stock and delivery also matter because similar exact-fit tyres can change availability quickly, and shipping timing may influence which option makes sense for you. This shortlist is useful because it lets you compare exact 185/60 R15 options from Kumho and Nexen without wasting time on unrelated fitments.

Yes. Trim, wheel option and market can change the correct size, so a Polo of the same year may be listed with 185/60 R15, 215/45 R16 or 215/40 R17. Always confirm the tyre sidewall or vehicle placard on your own car before ordering, and do not assume a different size will be right just because it appears on another Polo.
Start with the sidewall on the tyre that is already fitted, then check the vehicle placard in the door area or handbook. Match the full size, plus load index and speed rating, because those details matter as much as the width, profile and rim diameter. If the sidewall and placard disagree, use the vehicle placard or get a fitter to confirm the correct fitment before you buy.
After confirming size, compare load index, speed rating, season, stock and delivery. For this shortlist, the main comparison is between Kumho winter options, Nexen summer options and the Kumho all-season choice, all in exact 185/60 R15 fitment. It is sensible to check whether the retailer can deliver in time for your next trip before you decide.
Because the correct tyre size for a 2016 Volkswagen Polo can vary by trim, wheel option and market. This page is meant to compare only the researched exact sizes, so it avoids near sizes and keeps the decision focused on fitment, season and price. If your car’s sidewall or placard shows a different size, use that exact size instead of trying to translate it to a near match.
If the sidewall and placard disagree, do not rely on a guess. Use the placard, the current tyre size and, if needed, a tyre fitter’s confirmation before ordering, because previous wheel changes can affect what is correct for the car now. Only proceed when you can verify the exact size on the specific vehicle in front of you.
